Joey Scouts is the first Section of Scouts. We focus on fun and friendship, and is a gentle introduction to a world of challenges and adventure through Scouting.
A young person can join the Joey Section at any time after their 5th to their 8th birthday, provided they are attending school full-time.
Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories, and craft activities. From building monsters and spaceships from scrap items to growing plants from seedlings and singing songs together, all Joeys develop a strong sense of belonging and an understanding of the world around them.
Joey Scouts learn how to socialise with other children and help other people. They also learn how to recognise native birds and animals, and develop an understanding of the impact of our modern world on the environment.
As Joeys approach their 8th birthday, they will begin preparing to link to our Cub Section, ready to take on new challenges and adventures.
Our Joey Scouts generally meet at our hall on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
